Cabin Rentals Lake Tahoe Get Your Booking On!

All of the Lake Tahoe ski resorts are open and full of skiers and snowboarders. A visit to Northstar-at-Tahoe last week provided a fun-filled day of fresh snow for skiers and snowboarders. A Lake Tahoe winter vacation is a way to enjoy the snow and breathtaking mountain sunsets… take a break from day-to-day life! Tahoe has so much to offer, but honestly, watching your kids and the many families up at the resort on their vacation learning how to maneuver down the ski slopes was quite entertaining.

There are so many ski resorts around Tahoe and snowboarding seems to be more popular than ever. Both sports can be prohibitively expensive; a one-day lift ticket alone will run you $50.00 for a child and $75.00 for an adult, and that’s if you’ve got your own equipment. There are some great ways to save money. Resorts offer multi-day discounts combining equipment rental with lower cost lift tickets. You can also rent your equipment outside of the resort and tote it along – save some time here too as you won’t fight the crowds who are also renting equipment. There are also resorts with ski packages that provide it all: lift tickets, lodging, equipment rental and plenty of activities from ice skating to sleigh rides and skiing or snowboarding for beginners and experts alike.

After a day on the slopes, whether you’re just starting or you’re out all day looking for good food and snacks, nothing beats kicking back on a comfy couch in front of a roaring fire after a nice soothing shower and home-cooked meal. You can get all that in a vacation rental home or cabin, not so much at the “Super Bargain Motel.” That’s right…it’s usually cheaper to stay in an actual house than any hotel or motel.

Whether you are learning, beginning, intermediate or advanced…every resort (and there are a lot of them!) on every shore of Lake Tahoe wants your business. There is literally not enough time to get to everything and everywhere that Lake Tahoe has to offer. Family friendly or shred friendly; your optimal experience is definitely here.

Lake Tahoe has endless skiing, snowshoeing and cross-country skiing possibilities. If you’ve never tried cross-country skiing, you’ll be pleasantly surprised by an easy or intense workout on groomed trails or in the back-country. Either way cross-country skiing will show you the true beauty of Tahoe’s natural environment. Northstar-at-Tahoe, as well as many other resorts, offers a vast amount of cross-country trails to enjoy.

Need a quick bite? Want to relax over gourmet food and wine? Either way, the restaurants lining the shores of Lake Tahoe are there to meet your desire. There are many that have been there for what seems like forever: RoJo’s and The Charthouse on the South shore, GarWood’s on the North shore, Sunnyside Lodge on the West shore. And some newer faces popping up: Caliente on the North Shore, for example. All of which are serving up some mile-marking meals to remember your trip by!

Don’t miss out on the amazing winter traditions…visit the Granlibakken resort for a step back in time: a family-owned, intimate resort offering a small hill to ski or snowboard and a fabulous sledding option. Many families have been making Granlibakken their destination for generations. It’s not the hustle and bustle “see how many runs you can get in” of Squaw Valley, it’s what family vacations used to be: slower paced, play games, enjoy your time together.

When planning your Lake Tahoe vacation, contact the various Chamber of Commerce organizations for ongoing events and cool deals on vacation rentals in Lake Tahoe. Or simply do an online search for “Lake Tahoe Vacations,” or “Book Vacation Rentals Lake Tahoe” for more possibilities, activities, family fun and vacation rentals than you can fit in to your entire Lake Tahoe vacation.
